From School Visits to Business Meetings

The museum offers so much more than simply displaying a fine collection of historic vehicles! It unfolds the true stories of how early pot-holed cart tracks were finally developed into a system of modern highways and motorways; how horse-drawn stage coaches were eventually replaced by motor vehicles with ever increasing power; and how people gained more freedom to travel for both business and pleasure. Our roads and vehicles using them, provide our lifelines for work, pleasure and day to day living. So, with the help of our well informed staff, we bring to life the changes that have taken place in the movement of both people and goods.

Then there’s our Conference Suite which offers facilities to satisfy your important CORPORATE MEETINGS. For those really SPECIAL OCCASIONS, the whole museum can be made available for that important occasion !

School Visits

Equally popular with both children and teachers. What is taught in the classroom is efficiently supported by what can be seen & heard here in the museum. Always lots of questions are asked… and some surprising answers are to be foun! – How many men did it take to drive a steam lorry? – When and where was Britain’s first motorway opened? – Why did a dog usually travel in the back of a horse-drawn parcel delivery van? Our aim is to always ensure that learning can be interesting as well as enlightening. Ask us for further information about our free packs of worksheets for use when visiting the museum, and afterwards for follow-up work in the classroom.

Business Meetings – Special Occasions

Our Conference Suite has State-of-The-Art facilities for those important meetings, yet they can be opened out to become part of the Exhibition Hall for those SPECIAL OCCASIONS. Maybe launching a New Product, a College ‘PASS-OUT’ ceremony, OR for what it is you have in mind ?

Something Different

The museum offers so much more than its fine collection of historic vehicles. For lovers of music, the world famous Leyland Band thought the acoustics in the exhibition hall were exceedingly good – keep a check on our ‘WHAT’S ON‘ features for future concerts.
