The Leyland Beer Festival Day 1

A selection of over 30 fine ales to choose from, and a Prosecco bar too ! The setting is unique; surrounded by historic vehicles some of which date back as far as the 1890s – and live music from local bands and solo artists! Entry to this event is £10 per person which includes entry to the museum, a souvenir pint glass and a £5 drinks voucher. Payable at the door.

All Fords Classic Show
Apr 23 @ 10:00 am – 4:30 pm

So many Fords are true classics, from the Model ‘T’ through to Anglias, Prefects, Cortinas, Capris, Consuls, Zephyrs, and Granadas. Here’s a chance then to meet up with other owners and club members – with archive film footage (including rallying Escorts) to be shown in the museum cinema. North West Transport Show

If it runs on wheels, this is the show for you !

Classic Trucks, Buses, Cars, Bikes and Stationary Engines are all expected to attend. Inside the museum there will be an interesting display of Prams & Dolls by members of the International Vintage Pram & Doll Club.

 

A Progamme of archive films will be shown in the museum cinema.

The Austin, Morris, Wolseley & MG Classics Day
Jun 11 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

This is the first time that The Museum has held a show devoted to Austin & Morris cars, vans, and commercial vehicles. We also include & invite owners of MG saloon cars and sports cars to join us.

So, let’s see just how many Austin ‘Top Hat Sevens’, Morris ‘Bullnose’ Oxfords or Cowleys, & MG ‘T-Series’. . . . PLUS models from the 1930s right up to the 1960s and 1970s will be on display. All are welcome. A chance for owners and admirers to exchange views. . . and visitors to look back on times when oily rags and tool kits were part and parcel of motoring pleasures! Or were they ?

Vintage & Classic Motorcycle Show

The Vintage Motor Cycle Club (VMCC North West Section) has played a major part in
the success of this annual show, now in its tenth year ! This year promises to be even
bigger and better. Early motorcycles, vintage racing machines, and classic bikes from
years long gone. Films of early motorcycle events will also be screened in the cinema.

Gilly’s Classic Motorcycle Afternoon

John Gilmore from BBC Radio Lancashire presents a special programme being broadcast live from the museum. Surrounded by classic and vintage motorcycles, Gilly – as he is affectionately known – mixes interviews with enthusiasts, local news and music too. Come along, see some fabulous machines and join in the many interesting conversations with owners and riders. If you have a machine of special interest . . . bring it along !

The British & American Classic Car Show

All the best of British automobiles with famous models from Austin, Morris, Jaguar, Rover etc AND glitzy American autos by Chrysler, Cadillac, Ford, Lincoln and maybe some Studebakers too! Examples of early motor engineering brought together alongside some modern classic muscle cars demonstrate just how vehicles have developed over the years – on both sides of the Atlantic.

The Atkinson Gathering

Atkinson’s history goes way back to 1916 when they acted as sales agents for ‘Sentinel Steamers’
before entering the market building their own steam wagons, and in 1926 purchased the drawings
and rights of Leyland Motors’ steam interest. Of course we are all familiar with the encircled Big ‘A’
on the later range of diesel lorries. Now is your chance to come and see some of the finest
Atkinsons built, talk to their owners and take pictures too !
